Welles Park Bulldog Covers Local Sports

Checkers' Mike Murphy stretches to make the block.

Are big national sports teams becoming too costly to follow? Neighborhood news papers cover local sports that charge visitors a fraction of the price of a ticket to national events.

The Welles Park Bulldog is keeping tabs on Amundsen, St. Ben’s and the local basketball scene. The finals are coming up, and some of the local action will really heat up. You don’t need to go downtown or pay lots of money to get out of the house and have a good time.

The Bulldog follows hockey, too, and not only the Blackhawks, but IceHogs and the AHL as well. These games offer a family a chance to get out for some live sports action without going into debt.
