2016 Presidential Election Results: How is Chicago feeling?

Donald Trump was named the 45th President of the United States on Nov. 8 after a long, intense, and emotional election night. Polls closed and the waiting game began for Americans all across the country late Tuesday evening. All throughout the nation, U.S. citizens experienced feelings of shock, triumph excitement and relief — depending on the political party of their choosing.

After a long year of presidential debates, rallies and campaigns, the results were in, naming Donald Trump the next President of the United States. Many people around Chicago admitted to feeling numb or extremely saddened with the presidential results. An unsettling wave of silence stretched throughout the city. Chicagoans across the city were quiet this morning on their daily commutes to work.
