Pilsen community reacts to presidential election results

Members of Chicago’s Pilsen community expressed their distaste in newly-elected Donald Trump the day after the election. The neighborhood, with its high Hispanic population, felt nervous that Trump now holds the office; the candidate made statements during his campaign about building a wall on the Mexican border and deporting illegal immigrants. Many people within the community are migrants themselves and almost everyone knows of, or is related to, someone that resides in America without proper credentials.

Some middle class residents feel that Trump could potentially boost the economy and build jobs, but others are doubtful of his claims on the subject and are much more concerned about his views on minorities and women in America.
