Celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring women in the South Loop who are pioneering roles models.1st Annual South Loop, Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Overflow Coffee Bar at 1550 S. State.

If you are a Columbia student looking for a venue for your art or musical talent, contact Amanda at (312) 772-2356 or info@overflowcoffeebar.org because they are looking for women artists to play background music or display art during the tea.

In communities around the United States, National Women’s History Month provides an opportunity to share the significant role of women in American history and contemporary society, and to recognize women who have been instrumental in their local communities. Join us as we celebrate the women of the South Loop and honor one of our own as South Loop Woman of the Year.

Community members, you can nominate a woman as someone who has made a difference. Nominations are being accepted through February 15. Use the nomination form to suggest a South Loop woman making a difference in our neighborhood, around Chicago or around the world.
