Crain’s says that the Tribune has closed on the sale of the Cubs.

“Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tribune has insisted in the past that much of it be financed with debt to limit the media company’s exposure to the capital gains tax. The Chicago-based media company aimed to maintain a small stake in the Cubs after the deal, which also includes selling Wrigley Field and a 25% stake in regional cable channel Comcast SportsNet.”
Is this going to matter to the Cubs in terms of wins and losses? What about fans? Leave your comment.
