Chicagoans celebrated India Independence Day with a parade on Devon Ave. Aug. 18.
The parade was very well organized, and the weather was nice and pleasant. People were out on the streets and were very excited, reports Urdu Onair’s Sharuhk Hasan, who keeps us posted on South Asian activities in Chicago. Our reporter, Sharukh Hasan, had special fun capturing excitement of the parade this year as he has done for the past last few years with his camera and video.
Hasan writes, “And to everyone’s surprise, Bollywood Actor Aftab Shivdasani was there on parade. I recorded his speech.”
