Metropolitan Family Services Receives Generous Donation from AHR Expo

Metropolitan Family Services, one of Chicago area’s most established providers of programs and counseling to help low-income families, received nearly $12,000 from AHR Expo, the world’s largest air conditioning, heating & refrigeration expo and conference. The award will be used to upgrade HVAC systems to improve operation and efficiency at Metropolitan’s Midway Head Start facility, 3843 W. 63rd St.

Metropolitan Family Services is a human services agency with a mission to strengthen families by providing them with expert guidance and a broad array of programs designed to help them overcome the challenges they face.

With seven community centers located throughout Chicagoand the suburbs, Metropolitan is an established and experienced human services providers. Metropolitan is recognized for the collaborative approach it takes within each of its communities and as a leader in its use of metrics to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its programs.

Ricardo Estrada, President and CEO of Metropolitan Family Services, was presented with the donation by Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, Jan. 24 during the AHR Expo at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. International Exposition Company produces and manages the AHR Expo.

The donation was made possible from entry fees of organizations participating in the prestigious AHR Expo Innovation Awards. “We are delighted that the entry fees will help such a worthwhile charity dedicated to improving the lives of Chicago-area families”, said Stevens. “The AHR Expo Innovation Awards promote innovation in the HVACR Industry, while at the same time benefiting charitable organizations.”

“We are honored to receive this generous donation from AHR Expo,” said Estrada. “It will help us improve conditions at our facility, while dramatically reducing our annual energy costs.”

As the largest and most comprehensive HVACR exposition, the AHR Expo attracts tens of thousands of attendees from across the industry, including contractors, engineers, dealers, distributors, wholesalers, OEMs, architects, builders, industrial plant operators, facility owners and managers, agents and reps.

To date, AHR Expo has donated nearly $100,000 to several local charities throughout the country.
